That’s where movement beyond fear must begin. By looking at the fear-based behaviors we use to protect ourselves, while simulataneously shortchanging ourselves and sabotaging our happiness.

  • Self-Sabotage: Are you setting impossible goals or not preparing well enough, just so you have an excuse if things go south?
  • Avoidance: Do you steer clear of situations where you might fail?
  • Negative Self-Talk: Are you your own worst critic, always doubting your abilities?

Once you see these patterns, you can start to change them.

How do we kick these fearmongering patterns the curb? It seems easier said than done, but it’s a straightforward process.

  • Mindfulness: Be aware of your thoughts and actions without beating yourself up. This helps you stay present and calm.
  • Action: Swap out fear based behaviors for choices that keep your momentum forward-moving.
  • Celebrating Small Wins: Start with small, achievable goals to build your confidence. Celebrate these little victories to boost your morale.
